Students may apply and register for the Fundamentals of IDY Teacher Training at any time up to the start of the first weekend of the program. A deposit is due upon acceptance into the program.

Early Registration for 200-hour Training 30 days prior to the start of the Training: $1,895. Students receive a reduced rate if they register for the 200-hour Training and pay in-full 30 days prior to the start date. A $675 deposit is due within 7 days of acceptance into the program. There are no refunds after the start of the training, please refer to the cancellation and refund policy below.
Standard Rate for 200-hour Training: $1,995. A $675 deposit is due within 7 days upon acceptance into the program; the remaining FULL tuition fee ($1,320) is due 15 days prior to the start of the training. There are no refunds after the start of the training, please refer to the cancellation and refund policy below.
Payment Plan for 200-hour Training: $2,095. A $675 deposit is due within 7 days upon acceptance into the program; 4 additional payments of $355 are due by the 1st of each month for the first 4 months of the training. There are no refunds after the start of the training, please refer to the cancellation and refund policy below.
Returning NCYI IDY-Inspired Instructors: $1,137. For returning NCYI IDY-Inspired Instructors who want to continue refining their skills in IDY, NCYI offers a 40% discount.. A $345 deposit is due upon registering for the program; 4 additional payments of $198 are due by the 1st of each month for the first 4 months of the training. There are no refunds after the start of the training, please refer to the cancellation and refund policy below. These hours count toward the Elective Studies requirements to become an IDY-Certified Instructor.

Our Fundamentals of IDY 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher Training program is non-refundable once the program begins. Should you need to cancel your reservation 30 days before the training starts, Northern California Yoga Institute will credit the remainder of your deposit after subtracting a $150 Application Fee. If you cancel your reservation within 15 days before the training starts, you will be charged the $675 deposit, however any remaining payment will be refunded.
Once the program begins, there are no refunds and you are obligated to pay any remaining balance, including the payment plan option, that is due to the Northern California Yoga Institute.
With regard to the payment plan option: Please remember that the teacher trainings are my livelihood. If you run into financial hardship during the training, please let me know so that we can work together to find a solution that works for both of us. IDY Class Attendance
Students will be required to complete a minimum of 30 hours of IDY classes with Kamie during the Yoga Teacher Training period. It has been our experience that when students do not attend regular IDY classes between Training weekends that it is more difficult to integrate the information into their personal and teaching practices. The Seven Principles of Synergy are universal and can serve as the foundation for any other yoga tradition. It is imperative that Trainees have this solid foundation. Trainees are given a minimum 25% discount (sometimes more) for attendance to other classes and programs taught by Kamie during the course of the teacher training and six months post-training. If traveling from outside the area to attend the Training, you will be given recorded IDY classes on dvd to practice with, additional assignments may be given with these dvds.
IDY Practice Competency
Depending on one's yoga background, it is Kamie's intention to make every effort to ensure that students integrate the material they are learning into their personal practice and teaching toolbox. This provides a safe environment for Trainees as well as their future yoga students. NCYI's principle philosophy is competency of the teacher; we will not issue a “Certificate of Completion” until we believe a Trainee is ready to teach publicly. Therefore, if deemed necessary, Trainees may be required to participate in the following additional programs in order to adequately meet all of the requirements of the Training.
Attend one-to-one private sessions with Kamie, these sessions are provided at a 25% discount to Trainees (regular price is $65/session, discounted price is $48.75/session). The purpose of these one-to-one sessions is to provide Trainees with the additional training they may need to establish a strong practice and ensure that the Trainee is appropriately integrating the material. One-to-one sessions are not a requirement of the Training, however, students must be able to demonstrate their capability to integrate the material into their personal yoga practice.
Participate in workshops, immersions or small group classes in addition to the Training to receive additional contact hours with Kamie. Trainees are given a 25% discount for attendance to other programs taught by Kamie during the course of the Training and six months post-training.
It should be noted that Kamie will work with Trainees on an individual basis to determine if additional contact hours are necessary. Trainees will have plenty of opportunities to deepen and expand their practice during the Training. Again, requiring additional contact hours would be a program developed between Kamie and the Trainee, ONLY if deemed necessary. With dedication to fulfilling the Training requirements, all participants will receive a Certificate of Completion.
Practicum Review/Critique
As part of the Internship program, Trainees will be required to either submit a dvd of a yoga class or schedule a time for Kamie to attend a class taught by the Trainee. Generally a Practicum Review/Critique will require approximately 2-3 hours of Kamie's time, which includes review of the dvd or attending a class, critique/write-up, and follow-up discussion. The fee for the Practicum Review/Critique is included in the cost of the Training. Students may need to conduct more than one Practicum Review/Critique, there is a $75 charge for subsequent reviews. Trainees will be given detailed guidance on what aspects of their teaching needs refinement and why. With dedication to fulfilling the Training requirements, all participants will receive a Certificate of Completion.
Other Costs
Other costs associated with attendance to public yoga classes (not taught by Kamie) at studios, gyms or other venues or the rental or purchase or rental of yoga dvds are not included in the tuition. Students will be required to attend and review other yoga classes or dvds.
Students will be required to provide their own yoga mat. Other props that are useful include a blanket and/or bolster. We will occassionally use straps and blocks, although we have these props available for your use.
CPR Certification, you will be required to submit proof of CPR Certification prior to issuance of your Certificate of Completion. CPR Certification is an additional cost not covered in the Training.
